The majesty of a snowy bur oak

The camera does not do justice to the way this bur oak towers over a neighbour’s backyard. What it does accurately depict is how the “bones” of a tree are more visible in winter. This bur oak is a beauty–one of 24 distinctive oak trees that thrive in Champlain Park.
