Start the day with tree planting on Sept. 25

Updated: Apr 22, 2020

Grade 2 students from St. George’s elementary school will be helping to plant a bur oak in Champlain Park on National Tree Day, Sept. 25. The tree planting will begin at 10 a.m.

Two classes of Grade 2 students will participate in the event, which also includes a visit to the two bur oaks that some of these same students planted last year on the median along Northwestern Ave.

The City of Ottawa has allowed the Champlain Oaks Project to supervise the tree planting. This year’s new bur oak will replace a dead bur oak that the City cut down about a week ago.
