Let’s celebrate National Tree Day … again!

Updated: Apr 22, 2020

Will it be a good year for acorns? Come to the site of the largest bur oak in Champlain Park, in the backyard at 211 Daniel Ave. to see for yourself.

You are invited to an early morning gathering on National Tree Day,  2014. See details here (PDF on view): National Tree Day Event

All candidates for election to City Council in Kitchissippi Ward have been invited to attend this celebration of our unique, healthy enclave within the urban forest, too.

Later on Wednesday morning, at the invitation of St. George School Parent Council, volunteers from our community will plant a bur oak sapling near the entrance  to the school. This event begins at 10:45 a.m. Three classes of students will tour the indoor and outdoor exhibits at the Champlain Park fieldhouse and visit both new and older bur oaks.
