Come to a Tree House on March 8

Ecology Ottawa is sponsoring a morning event on March 8 to talk about its Tree Ottawa protection and planting idea. It is calling the public event a Tree House! 

The Champlain Oaks project will attend the event. We plan to draw attention to how Ottawa’s Urban Tree Conservation By-law is being tested in court. The case involves Forestry Services alleging that a property owner in Champlain Park damaged a black walnut tree in October 2013, leading to its removal. The tree is covered under the bylaw because it was more than 50 cm in diameter at breast height (a distinctive tree).
